Art Coaching & Mentoring

Pamela Yates

My name is Pamela Yates. I'm a working, selling artist who has maintained a holistic Art Coaching & Mentoring practice since 2004. In my coaching practice I work with individual artists locally and around the world via video sessions, phone and email. My style of coaching flows from a holistic cultural worldview that is compassionate, gentle and respectful. If you'd like to chat informally about gentle and practical support for you as you engage in your creative work and dreams please call or drop me an email. I would be happy to answer any questions and there's absolutely no obligation. Our sessions are private and confidential. My clients make all decisions about our work together and the speed at which they wish to work. I am the consistent supporter always in my artist client’s corner - that’s a tough role for family and friends who may have visions and ideas for and about you that are different from your own. Physical and emotional and mental space and place that nourish your artistic goals and dreams and your creative spirit are precious! In my coaching work with artists one of our goals is to discover, create and nurture those safe creative spaces and places for your art life.

How do we engage together? Video meeting options include Zoom, WhatsApp, Google meet and others. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic I enjoyed working in-person with local clients and I am so excited to be able to return to that wonderful in-person experience but there are many folks for whom that still feels vulnerable for self and others, and I am entirely empathetic to that so, thankfully, we have other brilliant and successful ways in which we can work together.

If you'd like to learn more about this collaborative creative process please drop me an email at pamelayatesart@gmail.com or leave me a voice mail at 651-308-0870 including your name, return phone number and your reason for calling. I’ll reach out to answer any questions you may have and we can chat about goals and ideas you have for our art creativity coaching and mentoring work together.

My usual practice is to meet with each client monthly for an hour session, either virtually via Zoom or another video application or locally in-person. Sometimes we will have follow-up conversation via email between meeting sessions.

Fee options

Payment options are month-to-month 1-hour sessions at $65 per session or clients can choose to purchase a block of four 1-hour sessions at $220 for a 15% discount. When we get started I send a Paypal invoice via email — no Paypal account is needed, PayPal provides secure options to pay via any major credit card or using a PayPal account. Payment can also be made by personal check written on a US bank sent to me through the US Postal Service although deliver times have become longer and less predictable so this isn’t ideal. Payment is due in advance of each session. If a client chooses the four-month option for a 15% discount but does not use all four sessions, that’s perfectly fine; the Client is charged at the monthly rate for sessions used and promptly reimbursed for any unused portion paid. No questions asked.

Drop me a note or call and let's get started!

Kind regards, Pamela

Community & Creative Group Activities

I miss my in-person community involvement which means so much to me which we on hold during the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic. At that time I pulled back from these activities to protect the safety of community members and myself. My family commitments have now change and for the most part I’m not currently providing frequent community activities. For the record, most community activities and workshops are provided free of charge except for the cost of supplies which are provided without markup. There is sometimes a fee for the facility for the event, sometimes this is handled by a donor or the facility owners. I love these community activities talking circles, craft and art workshops, and casual coffee hangouts. These workshops can accommodate small groups of 6-10 or as many as 30 individuals including young people age 10 and up, youth and adults. Activities in the past have included guided art and craft projects, bring-a-project groups, casual coffee hangouts, storytelling, Talking Circles and presentations. Participants have explored creativity using paint, collage, beading, fabrics, jewelry making (earrings, bracelets, charms and necklaces), making dream catchers, and combinations of these activities. Locations include colleges, schools, faith groups, domestic violence shelters, addiction and other recovery and wellness centers and residences.

Caring disclaimer

Art coaching and mentoring is not therapy - I do not provide nor am I licensed or trained to provide professional therapy or counseling. I am always 100% clear about this. Clients are welcome to engage with other professionals including therapists, counselors, psychologists and doctors while also engaging in our art coaching and mentoring work together. I support clients in deciding and choosing for themselves any sources of health, healing, recovery, discovery, support and help that feel appropriate.
